researcher ID and profile

Manage your researcher profile

Researcher IDs and profiles allow you to link all of your publications, group any name variations under which you have published, differentiate between authors with similar names, and group different institutions where you have worked. They assist with metrics such as citation counts and h-indexes and may improve researcher impact. Recommended registries include:
  • ORCID (Open Researcher & Contributor ID) -  an open, non-profit, registry of unique researcher identifiers for linking research activities and outputs.
  • ResearcherID (Thomson Reuters) - create and manage a professional profile, build an online publication list, measure performance with cited counts and h-index.
  • Scopus Author Identifier (Elsevier) - automatically assigned author identifiers. Authors should check that publications assigned to them are correct.
  • Google Scholar Citations - author profile to keep track who is citing your publications, graph citations over time, and calculate several citation metrics. Profiles can be made public to appear in Google Scholar results. Authors should check that publications assigned are correct.
  • Find an Expert is your primary institutional profile, and a heavily used resource by the public and prospective funders. Download details about updating your public researcher profile.
